Dargah Sharif
Dargah Shareef refers to the final resting place of the Sufi saint, Khwaja Moin-ud-din Chishti, also known as Gareeb Nawaaz, the benefactor of the poor. He arrived in Ajmer in 1192 AD and left for his heavenly abode in 1236 AD. His teachings, devoid of any religion, focused on the service to mankind and religious harmony. The Dargah; built-in white marble and embellished with arches, silver doors, and Persian inscriptions; echoes with the soulful Sufi renditions of the Quwaals who sing the praise of the saint and the divine body. The fragrance of rose petals and the Sufi melodies of the singers create a magical ambiance.
