Cable Car Ride

The ropeway ride from Joshimath to Auli in gondola shaped cable cars is one of the longest & highest in Asia. Astounding views of snowcapped Nanda Devi, Kamet, & Dronagiri peaks before you and snaking rivers & blooming valleys below add to the beauty and thrill.

Auli Lake

A gorgeous blue disc, amongst the green meadows and white slopes, Auli Lake is a picture of beauty and tranquility. Built to feed the snow guns on the slopes the lake ensures a few extra days of snow when the skiing season is at its end.

Hanuman Temple

This beautiful temple dedicated to the monkey God Hanuman is believed to be built on the spot where Hanuman rested while carrying Sanjeevani (life-restoring herb) for Lakshman during the epic battle of Ramayana between Lord Rama & the demon king Ravana.

Gorson Bugyal

Bugyal in the local language means a meadow. Take a short & easy trek to Gorson Bugyal, around 3kms from Auli, and relish the charm of the mountains. These sprawling meadows are in full bloom during spring & summers and are a photographer’s delight.

Chattrakund Lake

Located just a kilometer away from Gorson Bugyal, Chattrakund Lake is set amidst dense coniferous forests where its blue waters reflect the high peaks in the backdrop. Pack a picnic lunch and trek to this gorgeous spot for a quiet picnic amidst nature.

Auli’s salubrious weather makes it a year round destination. However, winter season from December to March, is the peak tourist season here.

By Air- Dehradun Airport, around 300kms from Auli, is the closest airport.
By Rail- Haridwar, around 270 kilometers from Auli, is the closest railhead connecting Auli to all major Indian cities.

By Road- You take a bus or cab from Haridwar or Rishikesh to Joshimath and then traverse the last 15kms by cable car or by road.
