Lakshman Jhula

This 450m long suspension bridge over the Ganges promises you picturesque views and the thrill of being suspended over the rushing Ganges. It is believed that Lakshman, Lord Rama’s younger brother, crossed the river at the same spot using a jute rope.

Neelkanth Mahadev

Seeped in mythology, Neelkanth temple is believed to mark the holy site where Lord Shiva swallowed poison that surfaced during the mythical churning of the sea and thus earned the name Neelkanth or one with a blue throat. The intricate carvings on the temple shikhara (dome), walls, and doors depict this legendary tale of Lord Shiva.

Gita Bhawan Ashram

This huge ashram complex on the banks of the Ganges is a haven for spirituality-seekers in Rishikesh. Its walls and pillars are carved with verses from Bhagavad Gita, thus spreading the message of the religious text. Best Time to Visit Rishikesh
