The national park spans around 520km2 with an undulating topography ranging from tall hills to grasslands, lakes, and marshes. The two rivers, Ramganga and Kosi, flow through the park, with their tributaries creating a network of water bodies in the sanctuary. Jim Corbett National Park is the undisputed territory of the royal Bengal tiger. However, the park is home to more wildlife, including leopards, elephants, jungle cat, fishing cat, barking deer, sambar deer, hog deer, chital, sloth, and Himalayan black bears. Look carefully, and you may spot the exotic yellow-throated martens, Himalayan gorals, langurs, and rhesus macaques in the forest. Watch out for wild elephants frolicking in the waters of Ramganga, and check out the crocodiles & gharials that are bred here and then released in the river.
